It is an educational initiative that fulfills three basic goals: commemoration, dissemination of history, increasing recognition.These goals are achieved by adding to the memorial sites tables in Polish and English describing the historical significance of the commemorated event. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Institute of National Remembrance and under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, prof. Piotr Gliński. The media patronage over the "Memorial Plaques" project was taken by Polskie Radio S.A.
